If most of the children already in the higher groups don't meet these ridiculous standards, how can you expect new, up-and-coming swimmers to meet them? If you want to enforce these standards, do you expect to demote the children who have already earned their place in the group with their hard work and dedication?

These standards are ridiculous!

It is regretable that you feel the standards are ridiculous. Much thought from myself and the coaching staff was put into coming up with the criteria for promoting from one group to the next, and we feel that what we are doing is in line with what one would find in other clubs our size, and is in the best interest of the club as a whole. The standards are not etched in stone, but are guidelines. Coach's discretion will also continue to be a factor when a child is promoted.

We are not going to demote any swimmer from their present group. These are the guidelines the club will use moving forward from now.
