Tomorrow, the 16th, we're hosting a high school meet. That means MAC swimmers should enter the pool through the northeast stairwell.

Updates

Meets

Results from the SWAT B/C meet are posted on the lobby bulletin board. If you'd like to view the complete meet result, it's on the North Texas Swimming site here. MAC finished second in team scoring.

MAC individual entries for the COR Winter Classic are also posted in the lobby. Any "A" swimmers who didn't enter before the deadline can still swim in the meet. If you "deck enter" at the meet, make sure you bring your USA Swimming card with you.

Expect more "elbow room" at our December meets. The "A", "BB", and "B/C" meets will all be held at large pools with plenty of deck space for swimmers and upstairs seating for spectators. The A meet is at Loos, the BB meet at Keller, and the B/C meet will be at Carroll.

Fins

Please remember to put names on swim fins. If (when?) they're misplaced, we can get them back on the right (and left) feet sooner.

Tuesday

We have a home dual meet against Lamar H.S. Tuesday evening. Please remember to enter through the northeast door for practices.

Thanks

It means a lot to our staff when they hear parents say "thanks" for the job they're doing with the kiddos. We're glad y'all are part of the MAC program.

Weekly Update - SWAT B/C Meet

1. SWAT B/C Meet: Saturday 11/15 & Sunday 11/16
Just a few notes about the B/C meet this weekend in Duncanville. I want all of our new parents and swimmers to know something up front about this meet. It is the only meet of the year that MAC will attend at Duncanville. The reason being is that the facility at Duncanville is one of the smallest in the metroplex. Everyone needs to be prepared for the fact that it will be very crowded. After having gone there, you will be much more appreciative of how great we have it here in Mansfield! Below is a list of things to remember when you get to the pool this weekend. Parents......Bring a bag chair if you have one. Seating is limited.

If this is your child's first meet, things will seem crazy. Parent's....don't worry. Three meets from now it will all make sense, and going to meets in larger facilities will make things seem less chaotic. Remember.......if you act calm, so will the kids. If you act stressed out, they will feed off that as well.

A. Swimmers need to check in with one of the coaches when they arrive.
B. All swimmers are to sit with the team.
C. Be in your team suit and cap. (If you have not purchased a team suit in the pro shop, please
get that done before the next meet.)

Revised SWAT B/C Meet Schedule
Session 1 - Saturday Warm-up 8:15, Meet Start 9:00 AM
Session 2 - Saturday Warm-up 11:15, Meet Start 12:00 PM
Session 3 - Sunday Warm-up 8:15, Meet Start 9:00 AM

COPS BB Meet Report

Last weekend's BB Meet in Plano was a great meet for us. Every swimmer dropped time in at least one race. This shows the results of our hard work this year. The swimmers of the meet go out to Ian Betts and Lauren Thompson. Ian recorded four "A" cuts and one "AA" cut. Lauren recorded her first two "A" cuts in the 50 Fly and 100 Free. Be sure to check the meet results to see how much you improved and what new time standards you achieved!

ATAC's "A" Meet at Southlake

Meet information for the "A" meet at Southlake on October 31 -November 2 is on the table outside Coach Huckabay's office door. Entries are due by Friday, October 17th. Don't be late! All Mansfield and Summit MAC swimmers need to be entered in this meet.

LAC's "BB" Meet at The Colony

Last weekend our swimmers competed in their first "BB" Meet of the winter season up in The Colony. Times dropped across the board, multiple new "BB" cuts were made, 5 "A" cuts, and one TAGS Cut. There is more work to be done, but I think we are definitely on the right track.

The lady's swimmer of the meet goes to Sara McClendon. Sara is MAC's first 10 and Under TAGS qualifier! Her 500 FREE time of 6:21.52 was ten seconds faster than the qualifying time! Way to go Sara, keep up the good work.

The guy's swimmer of the meet goes out to Jamie Pappas. Jamie dropped time in every race, and I think we'll soon see him moving on to the "A" Meets. Great job Jamie, keep up the great attitude and hard work!

Tuesday Nights - High School Dual meets

Tonight is another dual meet night at the Natatorium. It's Legacy and Timberview High Schools vs. Arlington High. Practice Schedule Update

Monday, October 13th is a school holiday for MISD. MAC will have a normal practice schedule on that day.

Friday, October 31st (Halloween.) All practices except the Sr. group have been cancelled.

Tuesday Nights - High School Dual meets

Tonight will be the first Tuesday of the year in which there will be a high school dual meet at the natatorium. After 5:30 PM anyone entering the natatorium through the main entrance will be charged and admission fee. All MAC swimmers and parents should enter the facility through the East stairwell door on the front side of the natatorium. Look for the MAC Entrance sign. It will be very crowded on dual meet nights, and a modified practice will take place in the pool between the bulkheads. So, do be alarmed by the number of people in the natatorium. I encourage our MAC swimmers and parents to stay and watch the meet if you can. It's a great chance for our younger swimmers to get a look at the "big kids" racing.

New Novice Workout Times/Groups

Novice Parents,

The two Novice groups have been moved back 15 minutes making it a 6:30 start time. This is to accommodate an increase in the number of swimmers in the group. We have moved the group to the competition end of the pool, so all ten (10) of those lanes will be available. This move also enables us to eliminate the Novice Three group and get those swimmers home earlier in the evening. If you have any questions just give Kim a call at the front desk.

New Parent Orientation Meeting

New Parents,

We will have an educational meeting next Tuesday, 6:30 PM, in the Community Room, over on the west side of the MISD Stadium. This is for anyone new to Mansfield Aquatic Club, or any parent who has never attended the orientation meeting. This meeting is designed to help parents new to the sport of swimming gain an understanding of how the sport works, what parent expectations should be, and to get to know more about the Mansfield Aquatic Club. I encourage all new parent to attend. This meeting will answer a lot of your questions.

Intrasquad Meet

The intrasquad meet was a big success last night. For all you new parents, I'm sure it looked somewhat like controlled chaos. However, after you've been to a few meets things will start making a lot more sense. Although there were some swimmers who missed swims, the coaches were able to learn a lot about where their swimmers are right now. Keep in mind that the purpose of this meet was practice. We just wanted the young swimmers to have a dry run before the fist real meet. Also, when we go to an actual meet, the coaches will not have nearly as many swimmers to manage. So, we will have fewer missed swims, and things will be much more under control. Thanks to everyone who helped us out.

See the MISD Natatorium web site for Intrasquad Results
