Great news!!

The SWAT coach just handed me ribbons from their meet, and there are plenty of them!

Please give us time to get them sorted. We should be able to start getting them out to swimmers this week. Thanks for your patience!

As we go from short course yards to long course meters, it may be helpful for swimmers to get an idea of how the two compare.

No conversion tool is ideal for everyone, but this one seems to be pretty accurate.

The MISD Natatorium will host the MAC/MARS Long Course "A" Invitational on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (April 23-25). All Friday and Saturday MAC practices are canceled. There will be no lap swimming on Friday, April 23rd.

Gold Report

Our Gold group is doing a great job this spring as we approach our first "BB" and "A" meets. Change can sometimes be difficult, but the kids are adjusting quite well to new terminology and a change in routine.

They're starting to get more comfortable with their snorkels, too!

Looking ahead to next month, we are hosting a "BB" meet (May 7-9) and Mustangs will host the "A" meet (May 14-16).

Workout attendance and efforts have been excellent. Let's keep it up, guys and gals!!!

A Meet Volunteers Needed

Good Afternoon,

Thanks so much to all the volunteers from the B/C meet last weekend, especially the Sheppards, McClendons, Pappas', Tiptons, and Lorias who worked all weekend and did not even have a swimmer at the meet! You all are awesome!

So... now it is time for me to start asking about what you may be interested in doing at the A meet coming up April 23-25. We need all the usual positions- marshals, timers, head timer, runners, Daktronics, Clerk of Course, etc. MARS wants to be the lead on the computer, but we can have one assistant per session. I have already spoken to several of you and have added you to my spreadsheet in the position that you requested. Also, if you have a swimmer age 10 or older that may not be participating in this meet, we would love their help as timers!

LAP SWIM UPDATE

Lap Swim Schedule (effective Monday, April 19, 2010)

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings 7:00 - 8:00 pm
No lap swimming on Tuesday evenings until further notice.

Due to space restrictions, our lap swimmers will be in deep water for the rest
of the year, and lane walking has been suspended until further notice.

Lap swim lanes will be marked with yellow signs.

As the short course season wrapped up, I didn't have much time for the "Link of the Week". Time to get back to it.
